My 10 favorite Yoruichi moments
Yoruichi is one of my favorite Bleach characters. She's bad-ass, beautiful, likes to mess with people and can turn into a kitty. There is nothing bad about any of those things. Plus she has so many great moments in Bleach! Here are my ten favorite.

10. Yoruichi takes down Yammy
When Yammy and Ulquiorra first show up in the world of the living, they seem pretty darn intimidating. Yammy takes down Chad, Orihime, and Ichigo in quick succession, while Ulquiorra watches in a bored fashion. But then, just as things seem lost, the cavalry arrives. And in the case the cavalry is Urahara and Yoruichi. Yoruichi just jumps on Yammy and takes him down with her bare hands. Mostly by punching him. Man, what would she be like if she had a sword?
9. Yoruichi shows off her cannonball skills
This happened way back when we all still thought Yoruichi was a kitty. Kukaku is preparing to launch Ichigo and his friends into Soul Society, and they each have to make a spiritual pressure cannon ball. Right before they launch, Yoruichi realizes that she should try to make one - and does so perfectly, on the first try. Which is pretty cool…but mainly the image of the kitty floating in that ball of energy is super cute.
8. Youruichi carries Soi Fon "like a princess"
I can't honestly remember when this happened. In one of the filler arcs, I would imagine. Yoruichi ends up carrying Soi Fon "like a princess" (Soi Fon's words) while Soi Fon blushes and looks adorable. Seriously, how does Yoruichi not seem to realize that that woman has a crush on her?!
7. Yoruichi arrives at Urahara's shop for the first time
This moment is just so cute - Yoruichi walks up to Urahara's shop in kitty form, and Urahara comes running out, all excited, and proceeds to pick Yoruichi up and toss her up into the air a few times while saying things like, "Up! Up! Again? Okay!" Man, I just love the fact that Yoruichi can be a kitty around Urahara. Or a woman. They're good either way.
6. Yoruichi shows her "true form" to Ichigo
This moment. I, for one, was not expecting the cat to turn into a naked woman (not enough anime?) - so it was surprising and funny, but mainly I just love Ichigo's reaction. Shocked, horrified, curious, confused….and Yoruichi just being so smug about it. "You should look Ichigo. This might be your only chance to look at a young, firm female."
5. Yourichi joins Ichigo in the bath
Speaking of Yoruichi messing with Ichigo…there's also the moment that she says she wants to join him in the bath. He gets all flustered as she starts to undress, covers his eyes…and opens them a moment later to see Yoruichi paddling around in kitty form. Of course, she turns into a naked woman a second later because, come on, Ichigo's reactions are hilarious.
4. Yoruichi and Soi Fon fight hand-to-hand
The fight between Yoruichi and Soi Fon is one of my favorite Bleach fights, as I've talked about before. And one of my favorite moments in that fight is when Yoruichi and Soi Fon fight hand-to-hand, before Soi Fon uses her shikai. There's just something very cool about the two of them up in the sky, kicking and punching and blocking. I suppose because it was different than the sorts of fights we'd seen up to that point.
3. Yoruichi taunts young Byakuya
There's a gif of this moment that I really like. There's young Byakuya's face in frame, and then, from the side, comes Yoruichi's boob, squashing against the side of his head. And you can just see the rage come over Byakuya's little face. Because Yoruichi knows how to push his buttons - and loves to do it. As she says while taunting him much later, when he's an adult, he can never manage to beat her at tag. Or at anything, really.
2. Yoruichi does shunko for the first time
Have I talked already about how cool I think shunko is? No? Well, I think shunko is really cool. And there's something so satisfying about the moment that Yoruichi reveals that no, Soi Fon didn't invent that form. Yoruichi already knows how to do it - and can do it better.
1. Yoruichi stops Byakuya's shikai
But I think this is my favorite Yoruichi moment, since it encapsulates almost everything I like about her (except she's not a kitty). Byakuya is about to use his shikai to take out Ichigo (shikai is still really scary at this point in Bleach), when all of the sudden…somebody wraps a long strip of cloth around his sword, stopping him. And it's Yoruichi, who appears out of nowhere to stop Byakuya's shikai, mock him for still not being able to beat her, and rescue Ichigo. Because that's how Yoruichi rolls.
